Creating the .sdlplugin file

Question

Hi, 
 could someone tell me how exactly is the .sdlplugin file created by Visual Studio and at what point during the build? With what method, technology, etc. It would also be great if you could point me to the right direction on the Internet...

From what I understand, Visual Studio builds your DLL and then "Sdl.Core.PluginFramework.Build.targets" inside 
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\SDL\SDLTradosStudio\12" is invoked. The main work to build the sdlplugin file is done by the DLLs in the same folder. Sdl.Core.PluginFramework.BuildTasks.dll would be the main one.

Jesse's answer is 100% correct. All I want to add is that the target is specified in .csproj file (if you created the project using our VS templates). If you want to read more about build targets have a look here: 
 
 If you want to read the .csproj file you can right click -> unload project and then right click -> edit. Or you can open in notepad, Sublime, VSCode or any text editor.
