In Xyview, would like whole CJK characters to be displayed in Search and Replace menu

Since XPP version 9, Xyview can support and display CJK characters in page mode. However, in Search and Replace menu, user can only input the character to be searched in unicode.

It would be more convenient to the user to key in the CJK characters for search and replace with the corresponding input method.

Parents
  • Yes, it's true that the CJK Input Method "hook" was never implemented for the Form Filler window in the Xyview.

It's not a "solution" and it does require extra key strokes, but in case others are not aware of it a workaround when editing/viewing the Search or Replace fields is to type F11 or click on the Line Edit button on the SoftKey menu. This will bring up the field value in a limited-functionality Line Editor window and allow the user to see and edit the actual CJK characters as well as use the CJK Input Methods to input characters.
