Idea Delivered

(Belated) thanks for the post! This was implemented in Tridion Docs 14 SP3. (There's some more info about the release here, though I didn't highlight this item specifically there: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/sdl-tridion/tridion-docs/b/product-announcements/posts/tridion-docs-14-third-update-sp3-just-released .)

As a note – this was on the backlog for a long time, actually since we started playing with early versions of Draft Space internally ourselves. It was certainly not that we didn't see the value, but there was key functionality that we needed to get out in the product even before this.

Make the last folder visited using the Insert Topic or Insert Image function of the Draft Space persist for the duration of the session

Every single time I add a topic or add a graphic using the Draft Space I have to do the full navigation from the root of the repository. Even the most tolerant of my user base has noticed that this is unreasonable.

In an ideal world, the memory of the Add Topic and the memory of the Add Graphic would be separate, but even having them share a memory would put the user in the right ballpark.

I'd like to point out that usability problems like this punish your most successful customers the most; the larger the repository, the more laborious constantly navigating down through it becomes. If you couple this up with the fact that you've enabled no filtering or shortcuts of any kind in your folder navigation interface creates a perfect storm of bad usability.

This is the kind of thing the makes users do stupid things like dump files on the top level of the repository with the intention of cleaning them up later, which they inevitably forget to do.
