Reduce picklist in metadata field at job creation to the name of logged-in user

Hi,

can you please review the following use case and let me know whether this is a feature that can be incorporated in ManTra at some point? Thanks!

Use case:

- A user on customer side creates a new job in ManTra.

- One of the metadata fields to fill in at job creation is "Project Manager". The metadata field type is "picklist". The picklist consists of a pre-defined list of users on customer side.

- From the picklist the job creator selects the name of the project manager who will track the project on customer side.

- Based on the selected name in this metadata field certain human steps in the workflow are automatically assigned to that user.

Request:

- The creator of the job in ManTra is often identical to the project manager i.e. the job creator will select their own name from the picklist in the metadata field "Project Manager". When the creator of the job matches one oof the values in the picklist the metadata field should be automatically filled with that name.

Thanks,

Jacqueline

  • Hi Jacqueline,

    Thanks for raising this suggestion.

I suspect the use case you describe might actually be something we can support with some level of customization in TMS: -

    - Create a custom picklist attribute to store a list of users

    - Implement a MATE enabled workflow step to assign subsequent workflow steps to the selected user

Can I suggest you please pick this up with the LDTS team to see what is possible without the need for core-product development work in SDL Managed Translation?

    Cheers,

    Ian
