Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for submitting your idea for SDL TMS. I wonder if you could clarify the requirement because I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for. Adding a ZIP file for each language to the job does not mandate the structure of the ZIP file and doesn't prevent adding folders and sub-folders to the ZIP when it's uploaded. Is it possible that this is a process issue rather than a product requirement? If not, please provide further clarification so we can get a better understanding.

Thanks,

David

TMS submission and delivery folder structure preservation improvement request

Complex deliveries in TMS can require the use of an AddZip workflow, where, possible, the actual translation tasks get moved to Complete and only the zip file is moved to the final TCR/delivery stages. This is likely due to the folder structure required for a delivery by a client or system for FM files, XML, etc. TMS prefers one folder with the source directly in that folder without any sub folders. For standard FM projects you may have an images folder, that is required with the final output for each language. For software you might have multiple subfolders that need to have their structure maintained for easy/correct system update, after the translations are complete. It would be great is there were a better way that TMS could handle these complex folder structures, instead of just delivering all final files in one folder per language.
