Idea Delivered

It is possible to merge more than two segments, even across paragraphs - hence setting this to delivered.

Enhancement request: merge 3 or more segments.

"Merge Segments" (Ctrl+Alt+S) function is great!

I want to be able to merge 3 or more segments.

  • Thanks Philippe Riondel for the feedback.

Indeed, I'm talking about segments separated by a carriage return (it's a single sentence but a carriage return is used so that the sentence fits into a text box in the power point).

I have no problem merging 2 segments, even with a carriage return in Studio 2017, but I have been told by the support that only 2 segments can be merged. Hence, the enhancement request.

  • According to my experience, you already can do it. The only condition is that those segment have to be in the same paragraph. You can merge more than 2 segments even if they are separated by a full stop (which is the basic segment parsing criteria), but not if there is a carriage return (the end of a paragraph, which can be inadvertently inserted – mainly in PDF documents) in between, because, unlike a full stop, a carriage return relates to the actual structure of the document, and Studio is not intended to change that.
