but more than that.

SDL Tridion Docs -> Options -> Accounts -> Preview menu has "Default version shown" parameters.  It has following options:

• Latest available version
• Latest released version
• First version

I want to have "baseline version" here, and that should be the default.  Map Manager is already extended to retrieve remote maps.
I wonder if that could be extended to retrieve maps via remote publication so that we can associate current operation with certain baseline.

In addition, remote conref/variable access may need associated resource object information in the publication.  I hope the same enhancement will help specifying that.
