Collecting crash dumps on the File Type Support (FTS) Server

Crash dumps help SDL engineers to identify, analyze, and ultimately fix potential issues related to the File Type Support (FTS) Server. You might need to collect such dumps and provide them to SDL Support.

You can collect crash dumps in the following builds of the FTS Server:

FTS Server build Delivered starting with...
11.1.1.1669 or later WorldServer 11.1.1, Cumulative Update 3
11.1.0.1656 or later WorldServer 11.1.0, Cumulative Update 5 and Cumulative Update 6

You will also be able to collect crash dumps in all FTS Server builds delivered with WorldServer 11.2.

To collect crash dumps:

  1. Start Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
  2. Click the Processes tab.
  3. Right-click the Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.HostProcess.exe process, and then click Create Dump File.

Tip: Make sure you remember the location where the dump file is created.
