WS 11.1.0 | CRQ-5650 | Invalid argument (covers java.io.IOException: Invalid argument) when uploading return kits from Studio

Symptoms:

On AWS environments where WorldServer is deployed on Linux and the temporary directory is on a mounted Windows share (Samba), uploading return packages into WorldServer directly from SDL Trados Studio (on the server) results in the following exception: covers java.io.IOException: Invalid argument.

Resolution:

You can fix this issue by deploying the update to WorldServer 11.1.0, available on FTP.

If you cannot deploy it, contact the SDL Support Team:

  • Log in to your "My SDL" Account.
  • Log a support request via Support&Education Support.

Important!

If you want to deploy this fix on the standard release version or on a cumulative update earlier than CU6, do one of the following:

  • Deploy the fix on your current version, and then, when you update WorldServer again, update directly to CU7 or later.
  • Update now to CU6, and then deploy the fix.

Otherwise, if you update from your current version to any other cumulative update earlier than CU7 (for example, from CU3 to CU5), you will have to deploy the fix again after you update.
