Online Editor and Chrome (GS 2020)

Hello all,

Having upgraded to GS 2020, we find ourselves unable to use the Online Editor with Chrome (Version 88.0.4324.150).

Chrome opens with a blank page, showing the checkin and download buttons at the top, and the functions panel on the right (Lookups, etc.).

Firefox seems to work (but is not an authorized browser for our organization).

I was expecting to find a lively thread on this matter or KB here, since the engineers we have dealt with do not seem surprised by the issue, but this matter does not seem to be documented.

Is anybody able to point me in the right direction, or otherwise able to say what the nature of the issue is, how long it is expected to last for?

Since Online Editor loads the right side panel, I do not believe that these articles are relevant:

Many thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

  • HI Nash,

I have also noticed issues in TM lookup behavior. This is specific to one client that I did demo of OnlineEditor use with GS2020 SR1 CU3.

I checked this again toda with them and TM-lookup stil  doesn't work.

On the other side, I can tell you that I also tested this on my test installation with GS2020 SR1 Cu4 [UI: 15.1.4
GS: 15.1.4.5066 - GS 2020 SR1 CU04]  and managed to get it working also in Chrome - after the update to version 88.0.4324.190 (Official Build) (64-bit)

The issue was that when I first created and published the project, the server based translation memories were present in project settings, but not enabled.

I updated settings and checked in the project (or something like this) and it started to work.

Trados Studio OnlineEditor interface showing a project with Simple Sentences and Eastern Slovak. A warning message 'Translation Memory Disabled' is highlighted in the project settings.

Not sure is just Browser update did the test or is it  CU4.

    Regards,

    Simon
